It is a traditional belief of Thai people that every house must have a spirit house, or Phra Phum Chaothi. This is the home of the guardian spirit called “Chao Pu” in Thai. This house can be a mental refuge of people as after having the spirit house built in the area of their house, and bestowing offerings on it sincerely and regularly, people will have the confidence and mental strength to carry on their daily life activity.
